CHOOSING A HUNT

Please find below some important points to consider when choosing a hunt.

Your hunt requirements
Trophy hunting requirements can vary from hunt to hunt. We encourage you to explore all options with us. This will help us put you in the best camps for the best hunting opportunities.

We specialise in free ranging and fair chase hunts. However, we are able to secure access to safari park trophies, if this is your preference.

Cost considerations

The hunt cost is all-inclusive i.e. guide rates, trophy fees, meals and accommodation and airport transfers. Helicopter hire is optional for all hunts. This is recommended for those hunters on time constraints, or those restricted by age or fitness levels. Air charter costs from Darwin to Buffalo/Banteng camps are extra charges to your hunting safari.

Trophy fees can sometimes be more than the list cost if a hunter requires a better quality trophy, i.e. a red stag better than 300 SCI points, so please discuss this with us before your hunt commences.

Our Hunt Booking Policy

Your preferred hunting dates can be secured with a 30% deposit of the total package costs.

Since 1985, our policy has always been to refund any trophy fees paid or have the hunter back the following year at no extra cost, if unsuccessful in harvesting a trophy. However, this option may not apply if the hunter has had shooting opportunities and missed.

David’s record of obtaining trophies is exceptional, given the free range, fair chase environment he hunts in.

South Pacific Hunters also goes that one-step further in making your hunt a memorable experience, by providing the following:
      
If your free range hunt is concluded early then you can either:
* Hunt other species and pay the relevant trophy fee.
* Fish for brown or rainbow trout (no extra cost)
* Duck/swan shoot, if in season (no extra cost)
* Choose other tourist adventure activities (some costs may apply)
* Choose to go your own way.

Hunt cancellation

Deposits will be refunded, or the hunt carried over to the next year at the discretion of South Pacific Hunters. This does not apply to hunts cancelled within one month of the hunt date. In this case, no refund will apply (unless there are exceptional circumstances).

Not included in the hunt cost

o Accommodation outside the hunt dates.
o All taxidermy and shipping costs, including the relevant permit costs in New Zealand
o Because of the vastness of Australia, the cost of shipping trophies to your preferred Taxidermist is extra
o Air charter costs are extra to Banteng hunts in NT, Australia.
o Land transport costs to buffalo camps are $1000.00. If you prefer, air charter can be used, costs are also extra.
o Any extra helicopter time not included in the hunt cost.
